Union Railway of Memphis

Before the Union Railway of Memphis was formed, the Iron Mountain of Memphis owner/operator of the track from the ferry landing east along Broadway to the area known today as Tower 17 or a little further east. IM-Memphis also included track that ran perpendicular to this line including what became the Georgia street yard, some trackage paralleling the IC tracks along the river bluffs north of the Frisco bridge, and some track extending south into the south Memphis industrial area. All of this trackage was rolled into Union Railway when they began building the belt line, which makes (made) up the bulk of Union Railway track in Memphis.
