Mike Condren Photos Southern Pacific FTs

When we arrived at Pine Bluff, we headed to the Cotton Belt back shops and the Motive Power office where we met with the Chief Mechanical Officer. While in his office, he received a message from Sacremento authorizing the retirement of the FT units such as pictured below. This photo was taken at the back shops in Sept. 1961.

In Sept. 1961, this FT was also at the Cotton Belt back shops, having suffered from a serious derailment.

Hard hats and steel toed shoes required.
