I drove from Memphis to Van Buren to arrive before the Winslow Turn of the A&M passenger train returned to Van Buren.  I wanted to get a shot of the new dome car.  The car is an ex-WP California Zephyr car.  In time it will be A&M #108, but for now there is no lettering.

On our way to Thanksgiving Dinner at Pinecrest Church Camp near La Grange, TN, we found this DPU on the end of a coal train at the west end of Forrest Yard in Memphis.

The lead power is parked at the east end of Forrest Yard in Memphis. I do not recall ever seeing a loaded unit coal train with only NS power. It has been reported that this is a train of Illinois coal which is running through Memphis while the West Tennessee, former IC route from track gets upgraded between Fulton, KY and Corinth, MS.

This is the lead to the new intermodal yard at Rossville, TN. This view looks north toward the main line and the wye leading to the east and west.

On the return trip to Memphis, we drove by the station area in Collierville, TN where I shot the following passenger cars.

As we got to the east city limit of Germantown, TN, we met the loaded unit coal train which had been in Forrest Yard earlier in the day. I turned around and got my shots west of the Houston Levee Road crossing.

The closest stop this year for the KCS Holiday Train was Poteau, OK. I arrived early and scouted out a spot for shooting the train south of town. I only waited about 15 minutes before I heard its horn.

On my way into town, I got this picture of the train in the distance from the rear.

Here we see the train parked at the location of the former station at Poteau.

After the train was parked, they pulled the passenger cars forward allowing this shot.

The crowd has started to arrive for a tour of the train.

The railroad rented a couple of portable light stands to illuminate the waiting area as the sun went down and it became dark.

The crowd continued to grow.

A late afternoon shot of the train just before I headed back to Tahlequah.
