On a trip to east Memphis, I caught this loaded coal train along Poplar Ave. on Jan. 27, 2010.

On Jan. 28, 2010 I found this train of RBOX boxcars headed west at Cooper Street.

The first train that I got at Kentucky Street on Feb. 3, 2010 was this NS transfer headed to the CN at CN Jct.

The next train was an east bound freight headed for the CN and Harrison Yard crossing over the BNSF from the UP to get to the wye at CN Jct.

While the UP train was crossing over, an empty BNSF coal train pulled up to Tower 17 for a crew change.

The CN radio announces a UP train leaving Harrison Yard as soon as the in bound UP clears "Single Track". We see it come out of the wye and cross over the BNSF to the UP.

The CN radio also told of a following IC unit leading a transfer to the BNSF.

As it was getting dark, I decided to leave only to find a UP trains stopped at the crossovers just west of Riverside Drive.

I then discovered that Main 1 had an "approach" signal which led to this loaded coal train for the last train of the day.

On Feb. 7, 2010 I began my afternoon of train chasing by heading to Forrest Yard where I discovered a set of power getting ready for the transfer to the CN. We will see this power again later.

On my way to Kentucky Street, I notice an eastbound UP train as I cross 3rd Street. I turn around and catch it crossing Danny Thomas Blvd.

The first train at Kentucky Street was the CSX transfer returning from the UP intermodal terminal in Marion, AR.

Next came the NS transfer to CN at CN Jct. led by the power seen earlier at Forrest Yard. It was a sunny but bitter cold day due to a stiff wind. My fingers went numb even with gloves.

The signal for Main 1 at CN Jct. shows an "approach" for a loaded coal train with a 2-3 power arrangement.

While easting pizza during the Super Bowl, I felt a loose crown. That gave me an excuse to get out on Feb. 8, 2010 to go to the dentist even with 4" of fresh snow on the streets. I first headed to the NS with a few side trips for snow pictures along the way. I caught this empty coal train stopped at Cooper Street before heading east to my dentist to get the crown glued down again.

A leeased unit is seen switching an industry on the UP alongside of the NS mainline at the extreme west end of Southern Ave. in Memphis.

This ICG caboose is in downtown Martin, TN. They had gotten 6" of snow 4 days earlier.

This former ICG caboose is in downtown Greenfield, TN.

This former ICG caboose is alongside of US45E just south of Medina, TN at a storage facility.
