The City of New Orleans has just arrived at Memphis and is being refueled.

On our way out of town, we stopped for gas at a station at Jackson and Main and discovered this Riverfront Loop car sitting just off North Main.

This car was stopped at the traffic light at Jackson and North Main.

On July 7, 2007, I made a railfanning trip to northern Illinois.
I started with a stop at the Illinois Railway Museum.

On my way to Rochelle, I ran across this ICE train in a siding at Genoa, IL with a DME unit on the point.

I reached the UP, former C&NW mainline, in De Kalb, IL and caught this westbound running through downtown.

Between Malta and Creston, I discover that the normal eastbound track has been rebuilt with new CWR and concrete cross ties.

This westbound is seen leaving Malta on a down grade in this rolling countryside before taking an ascending grade into Creston.

This empty coal train sits on the downgrade just west of Creston.

This eastbound BNSF stack train has 3 lease units in the consist. as it passes through Rochelle.

This BNSF consist is preparing to work the local tank farm in Rochelle.

The local switcher is an ex-Frisco GP15-1, awaiting its next assignment.

This stack train at Ashton has just cleared Global III on its journey west.

This BNSF westbound stack train meets an eastbound potash train led by 2 CSX units.

The empty coal train seen earlier is now on the move past the Railroad Park with UP 6057 on the lead.

Here we see yet another westbound stack train meeting the CSX powered potash train just west of Rochelle.

After the second stack train passes, the CSX powered potash train moves out of the siding and heads east.
