I caught this loaded BNSF unit coal train on the NS approaching the former SOU Forrest Yard. |

We then see it meeting a westbound NS empty coal train stopped on the main in the yard. |

Ithen headed to east Memphis for supper with friends. On my return down Sam Cooper Expressway, I discovered this display of bikes at the one time entrance to Overton Park. This once was a street car route which served the park and the zoo. |

On our way to the National Train Day celebration at Central Station in Memphis, my son Matt shot this loaded unit coal train on the Critco Siding west of the Mound City Road crossing. |

The Following images were taken at the National Train Day
event in Central Station in Memphis.
Somehow it did not occur to me to check Central Station on my way back to Marion after supper on May 29. The following Amtrak train spent the night at Central Station. This tour had 2 ex-Frisco cars and several friends as riders. I missed getting any photos as it left sometime before we arrived at Central Station. This series of images shows members of my family climbing onto a CN loco and views in the cab of the locomotive. First is a shot of my grandson Shawn on the loco. |

We then went by Kentucky Street on our way to the Pyramid. We found a loaded unit coal train eastbound with the DPUs passing the location of the former Kentucky Street "tower". |

As we leave the Central Station area, we spot an eastbound freight on the BNSF off the CN. We caught it at Mississippi Blvd. |
