KCS Santa Train 2011

The closest stop this year for the KCS Holiday Train was Poteau, OK. I arrived early and scouted out a spot for shooting the train south of town. I only waited about 15 minutes before I heard its horn.

On my way into town, I got this picture of the train in the distance from the rear.

Here we see the train parked at the location of the former station at Poteau.

After the train was parked, they pulled the passenger cars forward allowing this shot.

The crowd has started to arrive for a tour of the train.

The railroad rented a couple of portable light stands to illuminate the waiting area as the sun went down and it became dark.

The crowd continued to grow.

A late afternoon shot of the train just before I headed back to Tahlequah.
