This shot of a MP15 was taken in Pittsburg, KS at the KCS back shops where it was stored, having never been placed into service. |
The MP15s were first used as power for the detours around the Poteau River bridge between Howe and Poteau, OK which a train knocked down. The detour involved taking a train on the Frisco from Poteau to Wister, OK and then the RI from Wister to Howe, or the revese. This involved turning the train completely around. This was done by putting locos on each end of the train. This sequence shows 2MP15s and a GP on the front and two on the rear pushing. They are seen passing the former Frisco station in Poteau. |
These view show a train returning from Heavener with a train. These were taken north of Wister on the Frisco on their way back to Poteau. |
