This was a charter outing by a Milwaukee railroad-slide group of the
Whiskey River Railroad, the park-size pike at the Little Amerricka
amusement park (run by the Merrick family) at Marshall, Wis., near
Madison. Whiskey River Pacific #1919 is seen in the station. The charter was arranged by Denny Hamilton. |
At the shop stop the gathering is checking out the roundhouse and turntable. Do they ever use that snow plow? |
Melody Ranch was the name of Gene Autry's ranch. Gene was once a Frisco telegrapher. |
A couple shots of the first freight runbys. |
Views of the runby on "Sherman Hill". |
