An eastbound CSX freight is first seen on track that CN/IC uses as part of the Belt Line just south of Jackson Ave in Memphis, 1/8/09.

The CSX freight is now off the Belt Line, entering their own Leewood Yard in Memphis, 1/8/09.

Diesel Supply Company has the contract for switching the large intermodal facility at Marion, AR, 1/11/09.

The real object of this excursion to the land west of the Mississippi River was the George Bush, UP 4141. Here one can get a clance of the long hood between the two units on the near track, Marion, AR, 1/1/09.

Hoping to catch some action, I headed to the SH 118 crossing. I was a little late to get a good shot of this vehicle train, Marion, AR, 1/11/09.

My third shot of UP 4141 is only marginally better as it now hides behind a tree and is nose coupled, Marion, AR, 1/11/09.

Back at SH 118 I catch this eastbound CSX stavk train, Marion, AR, 1/11/09.

The UP automobile terminal is Marion, AR is switched by a couple of ex-UP units still in UP colors, 1/11/09.

"RIP track on wheels" This crane is designed to stradle a train, pick up an end of a car, and allow wheel sets to be changed. Note the two wheel sets hanging on the far side of the crane.

A couple of units are working the north end of Tennessee Yard in Memphis, 1/30/09.

NS is replacing the CWR toward the east from Memphis. On Friday Feb. 6, the NS rail pickup train was working between Ridgeway and Massey Roads. The mechanised gang works a 4-day week so they are off for 3 days.

Back at Forrest Yard, this BNSF unit coal train awaits an opportunity to pass through the work zone, 2/6/09.
