Part 1

East of Davis Jct., IL

After getting off of I39, we headed west towards Davis Jct., IL. I noticed cars moving on the track at the east end of the siding east of Davis Jct. After exploring Davis Jct., we returned to shoot the ICE train with #4201 on its train, 12/26/06.

Rochelle, IL

Upon arrival at Rochelle, we find the Burlington Junction #1609 on the Rochelle Railroad heading for the UP connection, 12/26/06..

The UP welding crew is building up the crossing on the north track, 12/26/06.

This empty UP coal train is westbound past Rochelle Railroad Park with snow left from Dec. 1, 12/26/06.

Memphis, TN

On my return from the dentist, this empty coal train was sitting at the west end of the NS Forrest Yard awaiting a crew so it can head back to the BNSF and the Powder River Basin for another load.

Ft. Smith, AR

OK Feed is now using a Trackmobile. Over the years they have used various rail-wheel mounted trucks, 12/29/06.

Ft. Smith Railway #2002 is one of three ex-ATSF GP20s in service in Ft. Smith on Dec. 29, 2006.

Van Buren, AR

UP GP40-2 #1417 sits in the engine terminal area of the Van Buren yard, 12/29/06.

Some UP painter can not spell. How about this Cotton Bell #1494 patch job in the Van Buren yard, 12/29/06.

We caught the A&M transfer coming into Van Buren as it passes under the old US64-71 viaduct over the tracks as it moves into the A&M yard, 12/29/06.
