On my way to the Boy Scout celebration in Ft. Smith, I caught this empty unit coal train at Stilwell, OK.

There was a southbound freight in the passing track at Stilwell, OK.

In Ft. Smith, the UP 2010 Boy Scout Heritage unit was parked on the A&M track in front of the Pavilion where the celebration was held.

The next several photos were taken on our trip to New Orleans for a pre-wedding party for our daughter and her financee. The trip involved driving to I40 in Van Buren and taking it to Little Rock where we picked up US 65 to Tallulah, LA and I20 to Vicksburg, MS and MS 27 to I55 at Crystal Springs and then I10 into NOLA. We will repeat this trip in March for the wedding on board a cruise liner. NO we are not taking the cruise, the wedding will be dockside. Hopefully on that trip I will get a locomotive on the North Louisiana and Arkansas.

This car was derailed just north of Lake Village, AR on the North Louisiana & Arkansas.

I found these 2 Delta Southern CF7s at the KCS connection at Tallulah, LA.

We stopped at the Welcome Center in Vicksburg, MS and I got this shot of a westbound freight with the DPU still on the Mississippi River bridge.
Vicksburg is better known for another event.

Upon getting to trackside at Central Ave, this NS train was sitting. It was still there when I had to head to the apartment for other duties.

This freight appeared and passed the other NS train.

The New Orleans Public Belt's new engineering building appears to be near completion. However, it is fenced. This photo was taken by placing the camera on top of the fence, snapping, and checking if it was OK.

This freight was at the east end of the Huey P. Long bridge.

I then headed to the KCS yard area where these passenger cars are parked in the locomotive service area.

This KCS unit was also at this location.

I then headed down River Road toward St. Charles Street to find some street cars. I first discovered that portions of the line were getting serious repairs such as seen here.

I discovered that service on the St. Charles Street line ended at De LaSalle High School, a Christian Brothers school.

The next series of photos are of the Loyola street car line. The cars did not appear to be running on this day.

We stayed at a Hampton Inn in east Memphis across from Corky's so we could get a Bar-B-Que fix.  I did not pay enough attention in the room at first and THEN I spotted the picture over the desk, a shot down the Frisco bridge! For more pixs of the Frisco bridge see

On my way to Memphis University School to meet with a teacher/former student of mine, I found this train sitting on the passing track at White Siding.

These are the new signals at the west end of White Siding for westbound movement on the main line as part of the upgrade of signaling in preparation for the application of PTC, Positive Train Control.

Upon my return to the Hampton Inn where we were staying, I discovered this second train at the west end of White Siding.

This CN track Test car was spotted crossing Broadway from Kentucky Street in Memphis and my wife and I gave chase. We first caught it just north of Central Station on the S-curve.

We then caught the Test car, former RDC-1, along Riverside Drive on our way to the I40 Bridge,

In Springdale, AR we found this pair of locos sitting on the mainline next to the railroad headquarters.

We then drove around to the shop and found the following.

The cab end of the BNSF unit coupled to an A&M unit is seen peeking between shop buildings.

We then headed for the train show and then caught the BNSF unit heading south at Sunset Street crossing on our way out of town.

West of the Illinois River bridges, this retired former MILW rib sided box car sits on the north side of US412 just east of Siloam Springs, AR.
