As I headed west on I40 over the BNSF, I noted an empty unit coal train so I got off on Mound City Road in West Memphis, AR and headed to track side.

As I crossed over the KCS overpass on US59 in Stilwell, OK, I noticed that the north bound signal was "approach" for the mainline. I parked in the south parking lot at the station and waited for this northbound.
The northbound pulled up and stopped in the clear on the mainline with this KCS covered hopper along side of the south parking lot of the station. Note that this car was built in Paragould, AR at the plant we pasted on the "UP 844 Shiloh Limited".
In a few minutes I spotted the exhaust of the southbound units above the tops of the cars on the mainline. The southbound pulled down and stopped short of the crossing to wait for a second northbound while the first northbound started to move.
After a few minutes the second northbound appeared and met the southbound in the siding.
After the second northbound cleared, the dispatcher aligned the south switch and changed the signal for the siding to "clear" and proceeded south. As is often the case, a tractor trailer crosses in front of the train. At least this time, the gate was not down to get broken off as happened on an earlier occassion.
I moved to the north parking lot of the station for these shots of the DPU.

This road consist is first seen through the Court Street overpass before it moves down toward Broadway Street crossing.
In the distance we see the leased switchers working the south end of the yard.
The road power then moves south to clear the switch so it can head back toward the engine terminal.

Meanwhile I move down to MLK Street and shoot the leased switchers working the south end of the yard.

The next action was a north bound empty unit coal train at Broadway Street.
I then moved over to Okmulgee Street to get shots of the DPU.

D&R cabooses on a siding at Bernice, AR.

D&R #15 was teamed with #18 on the train switching the sidings at the Russellville, AR industrial park.
D&R #18 was switching the DuPont siding.

This herald hangs on the front porch of the Dardanelle & Russellville Railroad headquarters in North Dardanelle, AR.

When we got ready for lunch, the 18 was tied up outside of the office.

This vault is located in the offices of the Dardanelle & Russelville Railroad. It contains the archives of the railroad.

On my way to see my dentist, I spotted this local entering Forrest Yard along Southern Ave. in Memphis.

At White Siding in east Memphis, I found this train waiting in the siding.

Later in the day, I found this train west of the NS Forrest Yard along Southern Ave.

Upon reaching Van Buren, I went to the Frisco station and caught the A&M passenger train.

The ex-WP California Zephyr is seen parked next to the car shop of the A&M in Springdale, AR.

C424 #34 was seen outside the new shop in Springdale, AR the day after its return from New York where it had been on lease to another shortline.

These two units were stored in a fenced in lot north of Springdale.

These 2 units are returning to the engine terminal after dropping off cars in the yard north of Springdale, AR

These units are parked just north of Huntsville Road in Springdale, AR

These units are on the front of a unit coal train which has been unloaded at the Oklahoma Gas & Electric Muskogee Power Plant across the Arkansas River from Muskogee, OK. This track once was the mainline of the Ozark & Cherokee Central Railroad which ran from Fayetteville, AR to Okmulgee, IT. This would become the Muskogee Branch of the Frisco Railroad. It was orphaned from the rest of the Frisco with the opening of the navigation project on the river and removal of the bridge just west of this site.
