This brand new UP SD70ACe was the train that I saw while waiting for the inbound UP passenger train.

I then moved to Channel 3 Drive and discovered this stopped BNSF vehicle train awaiting a signal.
After several minutes and the appearance of a BNSF transfer train heading for CN/IC Harrison Yard by taking the connection at CN Jct., this train starts south. The transfer train mentioned can be seen in the distance of the going away shot of the vehicle train.

Out next train was a southbound loaded taconite train which included a former 87000 series Frisco 3-bay hopper.

Before the taconite train disappears in the distance, a westbound BNSF empty coal train and a westbound stack train appear on Broadway. Sorry about the sharpness, my telephoto lens was in Oklahoma. Three trains on Broadway is always worth a try at a shot.

The intermodal is now passing under the cantilever siganl labeled Kentucky Street.

Next up was this empty unit coal train coming from the westbound NS to BNSF Main 2.

The next train was a westbound UP general merchandize train which passed out location and then took the crossover at Riverside Drive to the south track across the Mississippi River bridge where it met the eastbound passenger train for which we had been waiting.

This 9 car UP passenger train is headed by 949, 963B, and 951. Among the cars were a power car, a former dome observation car, and a business car.

The train was composed of the following:
UPP2066  power car; ex. UP5816 (power/heat/air for cars in train)
UPP202    "Cabarton" staff sleeper ex. Pacific Domain Budd 10-6 slpr.
UPP200    "Omaha" 8 bdrm executive slpr org. a 12-4 slpr
UPP413    "Lake Bluff" business car ex-CNW
UPP315    "Little Rock" staff sleeper ex Wabash Western Scene
UPP5779  "Promontory" baggage w/flag paint job
UPP9004  "Harriman" dome lounge ex. observation dome lounge
UPP302    "Overland" dinner lounge
UPP101    "Lone Star" business car

With beautiful weather predicted, I decided to head to Wagoner, OK Hot Spot, about 25 miles from Tahlequah, and the crossing of 2 UP mainlines, the former Katy and Missouri Pacific lines in eastern OK. I had barely arrived at the location of the former Missouri Pacific station when I heard my first horn, a loaded unit coal train. It was southbound on the Katy and took the connection to the Missouri Pacific. North of Wagoner trains to and from Kansas City run directional: southbounds on the Katy, northbounds on the Missouri Pacific.

The next train was northbound on the Katy and then took the connection to head north on the former MoPac tracks.

The next train had been waiting for the unit coal train and the northbound Katy to clear before it headed north on the MoPac behind the one off the Katy.

The next action was the Loram rail grinder southbound on the Katy.

The next train was this OG&E loaded unit coal train southbound off the Katy taking the connection to the MoPac and head to Ft. Gibson Jct. and the branch to the Muskogee Power Plant. This branch is laid on the original right of way of the Ozark & Cherokee Central which later became the Muskogee Branch of the Frisco.

Then we have a northbound empty grain train from the Katy taking the connection to the MoPac.

Then I heard a southbound train on the Katy heading into Wagoner. It was a short train of auto racks.

This northbound on the MoPac is a unit tank train with header cars to protect the power.

I headed for Ft. Gibson hoping to catch the OG&E unit coal train at the plant. What I found was that they were not ready to receive the train so they parked on the branch to the plant, the right-of-way of the former Frisco Muskogee branch, originally the mainline of the Ozark & Cherokee Central from Fayetteville, AR to Okmulgee, OK.

I then returned to Wagoner where I found an empty unit coal train waiting on the Katy south of town waiting its turn to go north on the MoPac. While I waited I heard a soutbound train on the Katy approach and stop to await its turn through the crossing area. The first train to appear at the crossing was the northbound train on the MoPac. The second unit is a former SD60M rebuilt to SD59MX.

The southbound train on the Katy began moving again after the northbound passed. It took the connection and headed south on the MoPac toward Van Buren, AR.

The last train was the empty unit coal train that finally got permission to head up the MoPac northbound, taking the connection.
