IC at Walker Street Shops taken 3-23-1935. With the wooden coach, I suspect that this is the shuttle between South Shops and the shops at Johnson Yard.

This view taken at IC's South Yard in Memphis finds two sets of E units being serviced, but also a freight GP-7 on the right. In the background you can see the coach yard and a Cotton Belt set of power laying over between trips. October 02, 1967.

Another view at IC's South Yard depicts L&N 669, an FP-7, Rock Island 628 and E-6 and a Cotton Belt GP-40, 7605 on March 26, 1966. The IC serviced L&N and Rock Island passenger units at this facility, in addition to their own passenger units. Cotton Belt units laid over here, between trips, and were serviced hereby the Illinois Central, as well.

This view finds L&N 788 being serviced next to IC 4017 an E-7 at South Yard just south of Central Station on Feb.05, 1966. The L&N unit came in from Bowling Green, Ky on the "Humming Bird" train 101 around 8:30 that morning. This was during the interim period that Union Station was vacated. The IC pair of E units had arrived on train 15 "The Chickasaw" from St.Louis, also that morning. The L&N E-8 unit shared times in Memphis next to Illinois Central train in our city at Central Station. This locomotive, along with 5 other units, was purchased second hand from the Frisco by the L&N. Built for the Frisco in Feb. 1950, this unit had carried the number 2014 and the name "Truxton" at one time. Amazingly, this was one of two Frisco units that made it to Amtrak service. L&N sold them to this national carrier and it carried the Amtrak number 227. It was eventually retired on October 29, 1975.
