The opposite end of this consist is seen on the FM Eire Built page as KCS-41.

While in graduate school, when time allowed, I headed west out of Ft. Smith to Sallisaw, OK to check on the progress of the northbound morning freight. I then followed that freight north, many times as far as Pittsburg, KS.

Many passing tracks, such as this one at Hodgens, disappeared with the end of passenger service. Some of those that remained were extended in length to accomodate the longer trains.
