SD40T-2s

This SD40T-2 leads a consist of locomotives along side of I35 near Palmer Lake,, CO on March 28, 1976.

This is a westbound freight passing through Glenwood Springs, CO on May 24, 1980.

As we left Leadville, CO on our 1980 vacation, we discovered this westbound train which we chased over Tennessee Pass to Glenwood Springs on May 24, 1980.
Our chase continued on the north side of the tunnel under Tennessee Pass.
We next caught the train at Redcliff and got shots from the high bridge.
The helpers which had been on the front of the consist have been removed and the train continuing with just the road engines running along side of the Colorado River in Glenwood Canyon.
The helper set is then seen westbound exiting Glenwood Canyon at Glenwood Springs in preparation to helping an eastbound freight.
The helpers are then seen entering Gelnwood Springs, CO.

Those same helpers are then seen assisting a train eastbound through Glenwood Canyon on May 24, 1980.

During our 1980 Colorado Vacation, we visited the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden. During that visit, I talked to someone about getting pictures on line and got diections which led to our chase covered in the following chase from the "Big 10s" to the east portal of Moffat Tunnel.

First are my pictures at the "Big 10s", the beginning of the chase.

I next caught the power as it approached the CO 72 overpass.
We next caught the power at the overpass over our CO Route 72 on our way up the mountain.
We caught it next at Pinecliff siding.
We then got the train one last time at East Portal of Moffat Tunnel.

We spent the night in a hotel across the street from the Glenwood Springs, CO station, and I took these pictures out the window. The bench that shows in the right side of the bottom picture is where I sat to take many of the shots in Glenwood Springs.
