CSX Road Slugs

Photos by Mike Condren

Next came this CSX double stack transfer headed to the UP intermodal yard in Embony, AR headed by a control slug and a GP40.

Action dropped off until the next train, the CSX stack transfer to Marion, appeared at 3:15 PM Note an empty coal train is already in sight.

The CSX transfer has auto racks on the front end and double stacks on the rear. The power is the usual slug-power set of GP40-2s.

At the west end of Leewood Yard, we see the slug set with a transfer run ready to head to the auto unloading yard on in the UP in Marion, AR.
