50-Class C420s

A&M/EST #106 is seen being switched on the engine house track for some repairs on Oct. 21, 1988.
The radiator is undergoing some repairs.

A&M #50 was originally Essex Terminal #106 and still wears the yellow of that railroad even though it has a A&M herald on the side of the cab on May 15, 1990.

These views were made on a chase of the Ft. Smith turn in Fayetteville, AR on May 26, 1987.
The chase continued into Greenland.
The next catch in the chase was at Woolsey.
The next series of shots were taken at Winslow between where the station stood and the tunnel.
We next caught the train in Mountainburg.
The next spot was at the bridge over Frog Bayou below the Grotto where I swam as a kid.
We next caught the train at the crossing behind the Forest Park Cemetery in Ft. Smith.
The train is then seen arriving at North Yard Ft. Smith.

The Ft Smith Turn is seen passing through West Fork, AR on March 27, 1987.

These 2 C420s came over from the Maryland & Delaware in this paint scheme. They are seen in Springdale on June 13, 1988.

A&M 52 is seen returning from switching in Springdale on Nov. 14, 1988.

A&M #54 is seen returning from a trip on what was left of the Ozark & Cherokee Central in Fayetteville as it crosses Razorback Road south of US62 on August 20, 1988.
The switcher is next seen on the overpass over West Center St in Fayetteville. Many was the night that I walked to and from the Ozark theater on US71 a block east of the town square.

The Fayetteville switcher is seen again crossing Razorback Road on Oct. 21, 1988.
I caught the switcher again at the crossing of Douglas Street a block below where I lived my last 2 years as an undergraduate at the University of Arkansas.
I next caught the switcher at the Tyson feed mill north of Johnson.

The switcher is seen arriving back at the station area in Springdale on June 10, 1997.

C420 #58 is seen at the yard office area in Ft Smith on May 16, 1990.

I caught it in north Fayetteville.
I caught it again in south Springdale.

The A&M passenger train is seen arriving in Van Buren on August 30, 1997.
The train is next seen crossing the bridge at the spot known locally as the Grotto, a favorite swimming hole as a kid.
Our train is next seen arriving at Winslow.
