A&M C420 #50 has just crossed Main Street in Van Buren heading for the Arkansas River bidge, 4/14/06.

The A&M passenger train has arrived in Van Buren. C420 #50 is seen running around its train before pushing the train down to the station to unload the passengers from Springdale so that they can shop. The train will then load the passengers for the round trip to Winslow. But before that can be done, the caboose has to be switched to the rear of the train.
The Winslow Turn is then seen at the north end of the Copp siding. The train is last seen passing under I40.

While chasing the A&M transfer from the UP yard in Van Buren, AR to Ft. Smith, I discover this A&M switcher working the Gerber Baby Food spur. The engineer turns out to be long time friend, Andre Ming. The switcher returns to the main line, picks up its string of covered hoppers and heads for North Yard just ahead of the transfer.

A&M 54

Upon paying my Mother's bill at Langston Drug, I hear an A&M train. Once on East Main I see a huge cloud of black smoke over the top of the new Frist Baptist Church and turn up N. 11th Street and catch the following A&M C420 #54 leads a sand drag from the sand plant in Van Buren to the siding at Copp, 5/20/06.

In Van Buren I catch the A&M's tranfers from the UP to the Ft. Smith Railroad passing under the new US 64-71 viaduct from the vantage point of the old US 64-71 viaduct, July 22, 2010.

On a run from Tahlequah, OK to Alma, AR, we spotted the A&M transfer on the lift bridge in Van Buren. So, after dropping Jan at Dillard's in Ft. Smith, I headed toward the river and the Ft. Smith Railroad terminal where I caught the UP to Ft. Smith Railroad transfer.

A&M 56

On my way to the Main Street crossing in Van Buren, I noticed that the lift span was down. I raced toward the bridge but the train was already heading down grade into the A&M yard, 8/5/08.

The A&M pulled down to the Main Street crossing and waited for instructions, 8/5/08.

Next caught up with the A&M in Ft. Smith pulling the hill up from the Arkansas River bridge.

A&M 57

Once across the bridge, the train switches from the A&M line to the former MP Ft. Smith Railroad line. Here we see the train pulling the grade up from the river, 8/4/08.

A couple of hours later, the A&M is seen making a run upgrade for the bridge.
